I stayed here twice over the past week, and this is a great hotel in Saigon. Taxi fare to the hotel from the airport is approximately 140,000VND. On my first stay, I saw that I was pre-upgraded to an Executive Suite. Upon checking my reservation a few hours prior to checking in, I saw I was downgraded to a Club Studio room (they must have given away my room to a guest that checked in earlier), which is pretty much an oversized junior suite. When checking in, I saw on my registration form that I was booked in an Executive Suite. When asked about my room actually given, I was told that my Club Studio was just as good as an Executive Suite. Uhh, right…but my room was fairly spacious and had a kitchenette with a stove, microwave, dishes, and eating utensils. Was given a Club Studio on my second stay, even though Executive Suites were available. Three years ago, I stayed in the Towers. I believe the only difference between my room in the main hotel and the Tower rooms, is that the main rooms are your standard Sheraton style room, while the Towers rooms are more modern. The executive lounge in the Towers is light years better than the standard lounge, which only serves drinks and snacks from 5pm-7:30pm. The standard lounge doesn’t serve afternoon tea or snacks, but soft drinks are available throughout the day. They served sushi, various appetizers, dessert, and two hot selections (fried spring rolls, and fried shrimp). The gym is spacious, has lots of machines aerobic machines and weights. As a platinum, you can eat breakfast in the Executive Lounge, or in Café Saigon, in addition to your 500 point amenity. The restaurant downstairs has a very impressive spread. Everything from beef rendang to ice cream. Eat in the restaurant; it’s a no brainer. As a bonus, the food is slightly different every day. As a side note, there’s a small casino on the first floor of the hotel. It’s mostly slot machines, Blackjack (US$20 minimum bet), roulette, and baccarat. No craps. Darn!
